Understanding Spiritual Timing

“Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come.”

- Psalms 102:13 KJV

There is a significant difference between "KAIROS" and "CHRONOS." Both are indicators of times, but they do not communicate the same thing. “CHRONOS” refers to your measured time on the earth. For example, your minutes and seconds on earth. On the other hand, “KAIROS” means an appointed time, an opportunity, a moment, or a due season. This is what David called the “SET TIME.”

KAIROS is also what Apostle Paul wrote about in Ephesians 5:16 - “Redeeming THE TIME, because the days are evil.” This particular timing is spiritual and not physical. CHRONOS is your physical timing here on the earth, but KAIROS is spiritual; it has nothing to do with you. You can trap or try to give someone an appointment based on CHRONOS, but you can't regulate KAIROS because it is based on God’s timing only.

I have discovered that those who excel in God and carry out extraordinary things for Him on earth carry the understanding of spiritual timing or KAIROS. These people see things differently. They follow a different sound and walk into blessings. It’s why David said to God in Psalms 90:12 - “So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.” Until you’re granted access to that knowledge, you will always be behind schedules and backward spiritually.

The Spirit of God gives signs to alert you when you are close to something and aligned to KAIROS.

“Now why dost thou cry out aloud? Is there no king in thee? Is thy counsellor perished? for pangs have taken thee as a woman in travail.”

- Micah 4:9 KJV

As a believer, when you are close to something, you will begin to notice what the prophet calls BIRTH PANGS. This is the place of birthing something. At the time, you are not trying to conceive, but you are in the position of birthing what you have carried for years. You suddenly become uncomfortable with where you are, and all you feel like doing is researching, falling out, and taking more time to pray. These are preparations for BIRTHING; they are called PANGS. You might always cry at the altar and wake up at midnight to pray aloud because you are about bringing something big.

“O inhabitant of Lebanon, that makest thy nest in the cedars, how gracious shalt thou be when pangs come upon thee, the pain as of a woman in travail!”

- Jeremiah 22:23 KJV

“Sing, O barren, thou that didst not bear; break forth into singing, and cry aloud, thou that didst not travail with child: for more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife, saith the Lord.”

- Isaiah 54:1 KJV

The second sign is SINGING AND REJOICING. It follows after the birth pangs. You find yourself always celebrating the newborn child, even before the arrival. It is an act of faith. You suddenly start going for praise by singing continually and rejoicing because you know something is done. This is what God expect from you this year.
