You Will Take Nonsense

Anchor Scripture

Romans 15:1 (AMPC)

WE WHO are strong [in our convictions and of robust faith] ought to bear with the failings and the frailties and the tender scruples of the weak; [we ought to help carry the doubts and qualms of others] and not to please ourselves.

I watched one of the documentaries on a TV station, and it was about a mother who was late for work, and her one-year-old baby was crying for her to carry her, but she was in a hurry and running late. But then she made up her mind to carry her baby for a few minutes before stepping out. And when she did, the baby defecated on her, and she just went “oooh” but quickly carried her to her room and helped clean her up, and she went to her own room and changed before going out.

She got to the office late, but that was one of the prices of being a mother. She must take it. This is the same life we have as church leaders. Any leader who is not ready to be stained by his people is not ready to be used by the Lord. Have you ever heard people who say things like, “Me, I don’t take nonsense”? Such people can't be used by God; such people can't be leaders because they end up not having anybody around them or people they can lead. If you will lead, then you should be ready to take people's nonsense.

The same with that brother or sister who wants to marry but doesn't want to take nonsense; it won't work.

Our work as leaders is to remove the “Non” in the “Nonsense”, and then the people will make “Sense”.

Selah.

Prayer

Lord, I thank you for being kind to me, and I receive strength and grace to be kind to others too. Amen.
