Proverbs 26:20 (KJV)
Where no wood is, there the fire goeth out: so where there is no talebearer, the strife ceaseth.
I would like us to consider the first statement made by Solomon, the writer of our theme scripture: “Where no wood is, there the fire goeth out.”
I grew up in a family that loves fresh food. My dad hates leftover food, and by this I mean we hate to have plenty of leftover food for the next day. We cook almost every day because he told us of the importance of eating freshly made food. We also love to eat hot food. We hate cold food, and for that reason, we wake up early to “WARM” the food before we go out in the morning.
Do you know that as a believer, God also expects you to WARM your heart or soul every day and every morning? Don't eat cold food. Some believers are cold at heart; their soul is cold because there is no wood and the fire is out. Wake up early to add some wood to your fire, pray, read the word, and worship; don’t go out without it.
Don't eat cold food; spend some time to pray and meditate on the word, and you will burn for him again. Amen.
Loving Father, I thank you for this. I thank you for opening my eyes to the power of consistent prayers and the study of the word, and I vow to wake up and fire up from today. Amen.
"Intelligent children listen to their parents; foolish children do their own thing."
Proverbs 13:1 (MSG)

The heart is the engine of your life. Without it, you can't function. Corruption stems from the heart. Life stems from the heart. You can’t have outward success without inward success. And inward success starts from the heart.

As a child of God, there will come a time when your integrity or your moral innocence will be the only key to your elevation in life.

When John, the writer of this our text, says in verse 9...that was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world, what do you think he was saying? What does it mean to you, and to whom was he talking?
